Mount Mary - Superbly refined, elegant and intense Cabernets and usually outstanding and long-lived Pinot Noirs fully justify Mount Mary's exalted reputation. The Triolet blend is very good, more recent vintages of Chardonnay even better. James Halliday 2005Mount Mary is one of Australia’s iconic vineyards. Its dryland vineyard is planted to a broad array of clones of its constituent varieties, from which Middleton’s team refined a selection from the finest mature vines. Its yields are modest to very low, and its wines nurtured according to the very disciplined approach of John Middleton, who now has a significantly expanded winery to work within. The latest releases incorporate a deeply flavoured and tightly structured Triolet, a seamless Chardonnay, an opulent Pinot Noir and a riper, juicier expression of the elegant Quintet.Jeremy Oliver
