Founded and owned by Konrad and Sigrun Hengstler, the second Conrad in the winery's name is for the Hengstler's eldest son. After emigrating from Germany to New Zealand, the Hengstlers adopted a New World spelling for their son's and the winery's name. In addition to producing New Zealand trademark Sauvignon Blanc, the Hengstler's bring a little of the homeland to their island home by planting and producing Riesling in both dry and dessert styles. The Hengstlers' international experience also carries over into their marketing philosophy and their focus on exporting. The Konrad and Conrad wines are represented in over eight nations in both the New World and Old. Konrad
