Ciabot Berton

Situated in the heart of Barolo in La Morra the name Ciabot Berton comes from the owner of an old house dating back to the last century, the ruins of which still lie in the Roggeri vineyard near the winery.Owner, Luigi Oberto has been making Barolo from his vineyards since 1960. Of the total 12 hectares of vines, 8 are planted to Nebbiolo da Barolo and the remainder are planted to Barbera and Dolcetto. All the wines are 100% estate grown and produced. The wines have good colour and concentration of vibrant fruit encapsulated by fleshy tannins, but what strikes me most about these wines is their impeccable balance. Truly great wines for their price.Ciabot BertonLa Morra, Piedmont Italy

James Suckling 94 Points! "Aromas of plum, fresh flowers and hints of peaches. Full body with a beautiful core of fruit. Velvety and structured with a beautiful form. Goes on a long time in the mouth. Delicious now, but it will age nicely as well...
