'Elegant, supple and shapely, with fresh flavours of white peach, melon and citrus backed by nutty, creamy and vanilla-like undertones, it's long, taut and vibrant, with a refreshing finish of tightly integrated and lightly mineral acids. There's a hint of toast and butter beneath its bouquet, while beneath its juicy palate lies a fine chalkiness. It becomes more powdery and austere, with lingering fruit and faint cashew-like undertones. A keeper.' Tasted November 2007.

' Stick your nose in this 2006 Mount Mary Chardonnay and it smells different. Very different. Different, in a good way. It's waxy, briney, milky and cedary, and yet it's ripe and powerful too. It's a complete wine. It has lots of flow and drive and as a result it sails through the finish. Fair to say that this won me over. Some gluey notes - that some in the room did not like - though they were fine by me. It will cellar beautifully, cork permitting. Potential classic in the making. You have to like a bit of personality in your chardonnay though. Distinctive, I think the word is. Rated : 95 Points Closure : Diam Drink : 2010 - 2018 '

' The 2006 Chardonnay is medium gold-colored with a superb perfume of mineral, apple, pear, and a hint of lemon. On the palate the wine is tightly wound showing only a fraction of what it will ultimately have to offer. Elegant, with as much appeal to the intellect as to the senses, it is intense and impeccably balanced. This beautifully rendered Chardonnay is likely to have a 20 year life span.'
