The Triolet blend is very good, more recent vintages of Chardonnay even better. James Halliday 2005Mount Mary is one of Australia’s iconic vineyards. Its dryland vineyard is planted to a broad array of clones of its constituent varieties, from which Middleton’s team refined a selection from the finest mature vines. Its yields are modest to very low, and its wines nurtured according to the very disciplined approach of John Middleton, who now has a significantly expanded winery to work within. The latest releases incorporate a deeply flavoured and tightly structured Triolet, a seamless Chardonnay, an opulent Pinot Noir and a riper, juicier expression of the elegant Quintet.Jeremy Oliver
