"The nose has a lovely balance between sweet fruits and earth/spice characters (a hallmark of all the standout Mount Mary Pinots). It shows red fruits of strawberries and cherries underpinned by some less obvious aromas of rose petals, clove and mushroom. These red fruits show through on the palate along with spiced plum and quince. There are some firm but silky tannins giving this wine a great structure but allowing a clean, elegant finish. The oak is present but never at the forefront. This wine will continue to improve and gain complexity for many years to come"
