WSET

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education, with a suite of sought-after qualifications which are recognised as the industry standard worldwide.

These courses are designed for those who either work in the wine industry in hospitality or wine retail or are thinking about working in the industry. They are also suitable for the wine enthusiast who would like a structured, more formal approach to wine training and are interested in a global (particularly European) perspective and interested in being introduced to international wine standards. At the end of the courses, on successful completion of an examination, candidates are awarded a certificate.

Current WSET Courses on offer:       

WSET Level 1 is a one day course culminating in a multiple choice examination which is aimed at those working in the hospitality or wine retail sector or enthusiasts with a particular interest in food and wine matching and discovering wine styles. This is an accredited course and all candidates who successfully complete the examination are awarded the WSET Foundation certificate.

WSET Level 2 has a strong European focus and is suitable for both those working in hospitality / wine retail or those who would like to study wine from a global perspective and learn about international wine standards. The course also includes a multiple choice examination and candidates are awarded a WSET Intermediate certificate upon successful completion.

WSET Level 3 Certificate qualification is designed to give a thorough understanding of the principal wines of the world and their commercial importance in the world's liquor market. The qualification will assist those who are required to make professional evaluations of wines with regard to their commercial value. The qualification also provides an in-depth product knowledge required to underpin job skills and competencies, such as those required in product selection in the retail and hospitality sectors.

WSET Online Courses Wine House can sign up students for an online course starting and ending on specific dates released by WSET. Students are allocated an online tutor to work with for the duration of the course. Note that all students studying WSET online must still travel to Wine House to attend the exam at the end of the course.
