Greenock Creek (Various Vintages)

Thrust into the international wine spotlight in the 1990’s thanks to an unprecedented string of100 point scores from the world’s leading wine publication Wine Advocate, for over 35 years Greenock Creek has been a proud standard bearer for rich, robust and long lived Barossa Valley red wines.

Stated in its entirety, the name ‘Greenock Creek Vineyard & Cellars’ neatly captures our winemaking masterplan which steadfastly adheres to the idea of ‘vineyard first, winery second’. Through each wine we aim to capture and promote the influence of subtle nuances inherent in the landscape of our vineyards at Seppeltsfield, Marananga and Moppa, located along the Barossa Valley’s western edge. The undulating profile of these sites, strewn with ancient stone, serves as a perfect palate of richly diverse micro terroirs, nourishing our desire to showcase multiple expressions of our distinctive wine style. Dry growing conditions yield small berried fruit of deep colour, abundant flavour, great structure and length, the hallmark characteristics of every Greenock Creek wine.

"2011. Remember that? The worst/wettest vintage ever for many; tricky/trite for others. Some of those vendageurs who'd worked in France and were accustomed to a little botrytis in their Burgundy or Bordeaux reds seemed to do very well with it here even...

I'm tempted to say that upon release, this is the most approachable Roennfeldt Road Shiraz yet. I'd almost be willing to suggest it's the first 'drink-now' RR, which feels very naughty and sounds, of course, very silly. It seems to forecast the touch of...

Philip White 96+++ points! "I reckon this will become one of the very best Barossa Cabernets of my lifetime. It's not as intense, say, the best of the Penfolds Block 42 Kalimna, but then it's a different style completely. It's an elegant, but utterly...
