"Ripe and mineral, this is an arresting Sauvignon Blanc which shows its old vine roots and meticulous craftsmanship by way of its deep complexity, winemaking elements but the way the estate retains the grape's varietal aromatics and freshness. Intense on the nose, there are floral notes, hints of chamomile and aromas of ripe, fleshy white stone fruits. The palate is fresh and zesty with grapefruit and lemon, pear and white peaches. On the finish there is a flinty minerality and that quintessential wisp of smokiness which differentiates this appellation from Sancerre just across the river.
The wine is blended from grapes from the various historical plots of the estate, all averaging 30 years old. It spends six months on fine lees with regular stirring, adding that dimensionality, character but also softening the energetic acidity." - Wine House
"Domaine Minet is crafting exciting Sauvignon Blancs grown on Kimmeridgian marl and oyster shell sediment. These Sauvignon Blancs are unique and most famous for their lively, fresh aromatic and taste. The “Vieilles Vignes” cuvée has been crafted with grapes from the oldest vines of the Domaine. The vines average 30 years in age.
This wine is showing spectacular fresh flavours of apple, blackcurrant bud, kiwi and subtle wet stone. On the palate the aromatic explodes with numerous layers of fruits driven by a mouth-watering acidity.
