“Hand-picked fruit, clones 5, 115, 667 and 777, destemmed and approx. half indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 31% new French oak barriques. Even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on the edge. This has an elegant and harmoniously presented nose with seamless and ethereal aromas of dark red berry fruits entwined with dark red and violet florals, subtle thyme herbal elements, spices and oak toast suggestions. This is finely layered and detailed in its perfumes. Medium-full bodied, smooth, seamless and integrated flavours of dark red berry fruits are lifted by an array of red florals and complexed by subtle herbal layers. Spice, liquorice and oak add to the interest. The fruit is softly rich and luscious, and flows effortlessly, supported by fine-grained, supple tannin extraction and a refined structure. The acidity is integrated and the balance of the wine is impeccable as it leads to an elegant, sweet and aromatic finish. This is an elegant and seamless Pinot Noir with harmonious dark red fruit, an array of floral and complex herbal layers and a supple mouthfeel. Serve with Poultry and pork, and with Asian fare over the next 5-6+ years.”

“Owners Roger and Jean Gibbson have lived in the Lowburn Valley of Central Otago for 25 years and recognised the viticultural potential of a north-facing slope on their property. Roger holds a Masters degree in applied science and works part-time as a viticultural tutor at the Otago Polytech, while Jean has a degree in horticultural science. Their vineyard has been pasture for more than 100 years and is rich in organic matter. Gloriously bright with wonderful farmyard nuances and a distinct mushroom edge. Complex, savoury layers. Lovely cool-climate fruit – fresh and vivid. Very pure with unforced concentration. Fantastic complexity with great length.Truly beautiful”

““How good is this. Seductive, powerful, refined and opulent at the same time. Gorgeous aromas of dark cherry, truffle, cedar, dried herb and roasted beet lead to a concentrated palate that delivers layers of delicious flavours. It is richly textured and generously flavoured, while remaining elegant and poised, and finishes superbly long and velvety. Wonderfully expressive and hugely appealing. At its best: now to 2024”
