Bright dark red with ruby tones. Inviting floral lift to the aromas of raspberry, smoke and spices, along with a whiff of leather, less primary than the village wines from the Côte de Nuits but showing more early personality on the nose. Sweet raspberry, blueberry and menthol flavors convey a very ripe suggestion of bitter chocolate. Impressively thick and velvety but not flat. Finishes with ripe, chewy tannins and very good length.
