ONE DAY ACCREDITED COURSE - SATURDAY
A beginner level introduction to wine suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine.
For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET Level 1 certificate and lapel pin
The qualification introduces candidates to a global perspective on:
- The main styles of wine
- The characteristics of the major grape varieties
- Systematic approach to tasting
- Service and retailing of wine
- Matching of food and wine
To gain this Level 1 award candidates are required to:
- Complete a one day course at Wine House
- Successfully complete a multiple choice paper of 30 questions
The course is held at the Wine House (133 Queens Bridge St, Southbank) on Saturday the 1st of June 2024, 11am - 6pm. The exam is on the same day, at the end of the course.
CANDIDATES MUST BOOK IN NO LATER THAN 12pm ON WEDESDAY THE 29th OF MAY 2024.
Please Note:
- No refunds will be issued within 10 working days prior to the start of the course. Before that period a 75% refund is allowed if a student cancels their enrolment. A 100% refund will apply if Wine House cancels.
- There is a re-sit exam fee of $150 if a student does not attend the exam for any reason or fails the exam.
- The Level 1 course is currently only offered in English. Translation devices are not permitted to be used during the exam.
- Shipping fees are not included in course cost
- Your booking details are transferred to WSET for registration. We ask for your date of birth upon booking to be able to register you with WSET,
