[SOLD-OUT] Agrapart Mineral Blanc de Blancs 2009

Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media   - 93 Points!
Blended from two parcels of old vines (50+ years old) and aged on lees for 60 months!

Antonio Galloni 93 points!
A big, rich wine, the 2009 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Minéral brings together the radiance and intensity of the vintage, with the freshness that is so typical of the Agrapart Champagnes. Today, the 2009 looks like it will also offer readers quite a bit more early gratification than is often the case. Almonds, pears, spices, mint and dried flowers are some of the notes that are laced into the finish. The Minéral emerges from old-vine parcels in the Champboutons and Les Bionnes lieux-dits. Dosage is 5 grams/liter.

The Minéral cuvée is blended from two adjacent vieilles vignes (50+-year-old) parcels of similar, chalky, grand cru terroir on the border between Avize and Cramant. The fruit from Les Champboutons in Avize is fermented in tank, while the component from Bionnes in Cramant is vinified in 600-litre oak casks. This is always the most salty, racy, mineral wine in the Agrapart range. Dosage is 5g/L and the 2009 spent some 60 months on lees.

Bibendum

"True to its vintage, this is forward and fruity, showing an ample ripeness. At the same time, it's underlined by a piercing core of chalky minerality, turning more tense and pointed on the long, fragrant finish. It's an excellent version of this cuvée, and a fine successor to the brilliant 2008."
