Initially cool and spicy, restrained aromas of blueberry, white pepper and violet develop a more fleshy, bitter cherry, almost chinotto-like character as the wine opens up. If the breadth & volume of our 2010 Shiraz was a nod in the direction of Cote Rotie, the elegance and linear structure of this new release will appeal to lovers of Crozes-Hermitage. It is given further lift and energy via our first foray into a small component of whole bunch fruit in the ferment. An elegant and finely structured wine that will offer real pleasure over the next 4-6 years.
