Once again, vine age comes to the fore in a wine whose vintage-driven elegance and delicacy offers a depth and intensity that emerges the longer the wine sits in the glass. There's a definite sense of brightness to the strawberry & rhubarb-led aromas, which open up into notes of liquorice, clove & cherry compote. The palate is at once pretty & elegant, but also has a serious thread of savoury, earthy structure that gives definition to the unexpectedly deep & opulent volume of the finish. Give it a couple of years to settle into its' structure, then enjoy it for another 3-5 years with something like duck or Chinese roast pork.
