"Very classy indeed, this smooth and seamless chardonnay has a delicate fragrance of peach, melon and tightly knit vanilla oak with undertones of spice and wheatmeal. Long and creamy, it's an essay in elegance and restraint, unfolding layers of grapefruit, melon and peachy flavours meshing neatly with a measured oak background and zesty acids. Terrific focus and shape, and excellent potential."

Wine Advocate 90 points! The 2005 Chardonnay was aged in 30% new oak. Medium straw-colored, it has a bouquet of toast, vanilla, butter, and baked apple. Full-flavored, mouth-filling, and ripe, this medium to full-bodied Chardonnay is well balanced, with nicely integrated oak and acidity leading to a lengthy finish. Drink it over the next 4-6 years. Owner Guill de Pury is a third generation winegrower and the individual responsible for the rebirth of grape growing in the Yarra Valley. His first vintage was 1974.
