The flavours follow a classical cabernet profile " cassis, tomato leaf, musk, ash, smoke and cloves " but its taut, grainy, almost muscular tannin is the rope on which the quality swings. Nothing is over- or under-done here but nor is it a pushover. It's a firm, sturdy, aromatic wine with a terrific future."
