"Wynns Coonawarra Estate 1998 Michael Limited Release Shiraz. Clearly, a fine wine when first poured, this has the manners to impress. Offering full, heady richness without thickness or weight. The red currant flavors coast along clean lines, potent, with distinction. But Michael, from Wynns' best estate sites, doesn't completely show itself until the next day, when the wine smells and tastes of the Coonawarra soil, when the glass fills with the earthy red limestone scent of terra rossa, the flavors extend, their mineral edge leading the fruit further into the finish. The length becomes remarkably extreme, a hint at what the wine will become with ten years of age." 93 Points
