Wine Front 95 points!
Its a smooth-skinned red of impeccable balance. Clean, modern, fruit-driven, composed. Not heavy and not over-oaked. Cloves, crushed spice, cedarwood and mint, yes, but stitched impeccably to plum-shot, boysenberried, black cherried fruit. Not tarry, and not over-ripe. Not inky or saturated. Defined by what its not, its tempting to quip. Juicy length. Pull of tannin is just so. You wouldnt call it an exciting wine but with balance and purity like this, youd have to say that this is but at the start of a long life of maturation. Dont go near it if youre looking for a heavy hitter. Indeed, dont go near it for another decade.
