“The 35th vintage. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and malbec from Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale. Matured in both French and American oak. This is a seriously good wine. Characterised by its length. By its tight, poised, ripe tannin. By its inky, blackberried, minty, leathery, briney, mulberried fruit power. By its overwhelming lack of compromise. There’s a porty raisiny character to this and anyway, all-round I wouldn’t say that I love its flavour profile. But for its awesome power of fruit and tannin, and its searing length, this wine has to be admired/applauded.
