Its spicy, spirity Christmas cake-like fragrance of dark plums, currants, cherries and cassis is backed by assertive cedar/mocha/vanilla French oak. Velvet-smooth and profoundly concentrated, its very ripe palate of blackberries, plums and currants is framed by a moderately firm structure of pliant tannin, before a lingering finish of liqueur cherries, licorice, marzipan, dark chocolate and coffee grounds.'
