Tahbilk

5 Star Winery - Halliday Wine Companion
2016 Winery of the Year - Halliday Wine Companion
Founding Member - Australia's First Families of Wine

Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of the premier producers of Nagambie Lakes, Victoria, and specialises in Rhone varietals, amongst a range of others. Tahbilk is most well known for having the oldest and largest single holding of Marsanne in the world, and for their 1860 vines Shiraz.

"A winery steeped in tradition (with National Trust classification), which should be visited at least once by every wine-conscious Australian, and which makes wines - particularly red wines - utterly in keeping with that tradition. The essence of that heritage comes in the form of the tiny quantities of Shiraz made from vines planted in 1860. The quality of the 2012 and '13 wines continued to underwrite the reputation of Tahbilk. A founding member of Australia's First Families of Wine. Wine Companion 2016 Winery of the Year." - James Halliday
