Eileen Hardy OBE, is fondly remembered as the matriarch of Australia's best known winemaking family. Today she is immortalised by the annual release of one Australia's great red wines, the Eileen Hardy Shiraz which was released in 1973 in honour of "Auntie Eileen's" 80th birthday. Eileen Hardy, the wine, had been born, and like the lady herself it is quite extraordinary.
