Chris Ringland

Using grapes bought from exceptional vineyards in Barossa Valley and neighbouring Eden Valley, Ringland is almost un-Australian in his naturalistic, hands-off winemaking approach. He also has his own, tiny label, Chris Ringland, offering shiraz from 100-year-old vines. This trickle - just 700 to 1000 bottles - has an outsized reputation, thanks largely to American wine critic Robert Parker, who gave it 100 points (out of 100). It is, indeed, flat-out fabulous.
