Wine List/William Downie

[SOLD-OUT] William Downie Gippsland Pinot Noir 2012

Jancis Robinson 17.5 points!

Bright, bold, fruity aromas " charisma in sweetness, gentle spice and primary prettiness. It's slippery textured, pushing to medium bodied, shows a cool leafiness for interest and finishes with a whip of sweet acidity. It's upfront and easy to drink, simple flavours done well and with great clarity of flavour. The touch of pencilly oak and creaminess to texture make for extra layers. Finishes slightly chalky and dusty, in a good way, and has a comeliness that will please many.

Jancis Robinson 17.5 points!
Really aromatic and expressive. Very youthful, bright red fruit. Soy, earth, mint, milk chocolate. Really classic - gives you all the complexity you could want in young Pinot at this price.
