[SOLD-OUT] Wild Duck Creek Springflat Shiraz 2005

eRobertParker.com 94 points!

The 2005 Shiraz "Springflat" was aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak with the balance equal portions of seasoned French and American oak. It emits an alluring bouquet of cedar, saddle leather, boysenberry, mulberry, blackberry, and blueberry compote. Opulent, layered, with tons of flavor nicely concealing a blanket of ripe tannins, this superb Shiraz will evolve for 6-8 years and drink well through 2025. David "Duck" Anderson continues to lead the way in Heathcote. All of his wines come from estate vineyards with yields of under 1.5 tons of fruit per acre. - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate # 173 Oct 2007 Jay Miller 94 Points
Deep colour. Very adolescent wine with intense liquorice/dark cherry/ chocolate aromas and new malt oak nuances. A rich concentrated " touch alcoholic " wine with plenty of volume of fruit, deep-set dark choco-berry flavours and ripe dense tannins. Oak and fruit tannins kick up at the finish. Needs plenty of time but all the elements are there. - Andrew Caillard MW
