Robert Parker 91 points!
Robert Parker 91 points!Broodingly backward, young, and tight is the 2001 Shiraz Springflat. Its opaque ruby/purple color is accompanied by copious aromas of new oak, black currants, cherries, and a hint of underbrush as well as mint in the background. Full-bodied and chewy, but backward, it requires additional bottle age.

Deep colour. Rich dark cherry/ roasted meat aromas with some menthol/graphite notes. You can almost smell the tannin. The palate is dense but looseknit with roasted meaty/ red cherry flavours and firm chocolaty tannins. Finishes firm and tight.
