"Coming from the oldest vineyard being David’s first plantings beginning in 1974. Deep crimson colour. Aromatics lift from the glass. Extraordinarily low yields from this vineyard contribute to the vibrant flavour profile of the wine. Notes of mocha, olive, damson plums, liquorice allsorts, cinnamon and spice. So much going on. The palate is chewy with bright acids and a big, sweet dollop of fruit in the mid palate. Flavours of thyme, blood plums, mulberries and tobacco. Tannins are refined and velvety. The natural acids are mouth-watering and provide definition. Matured in 100% new French oak hogsheads for almost 24 months, approachable now but will reward patience. Suggested best drinking from 2024 - 2034." - Wild Duck Creek
