[SOLD-OUT] Wild Duck Creek Alan's Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

93 POINTS - WINE FRONT!

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. Extremely limited production.

‘Bordeaux blend’ here. The alcohol for cabernet , be it real or guessed, as is the Wild Duck Creek way, is decidedly lower than most of the shiraz wines and other reds. “Cabernet behaves like a naughty, grubby boy in our vineyards”, says vigneron Dave Anderson, “but does well, shows personality, takes it all”.

Slick, blueberry fruits, young ferment characters, green herb and choc-mint, fragrant as and replicates well to the palate, seamless, slick and well-balanced. There’s a sense of depth but freshness here, some detail despite the bold capture of fruit character and booze. It’s an intriguing and unique expression. Full blown red." Drink 2019-2030. 93 Points" - Mike Bennie, Wine Front

"(75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec) – Deep crimson colour with a rose hue. This is our oldest vineyard, first planted in 1974. The nose is a complex medley of blueberries and dried herbs which constantly evolve in the glass. The palate is creamy, textural, and jam packed with blackberry, spice and crushed cloves. The finish is long with hints of bay leaf and thyme. This year’s Alan’s Cabernet is round and a great refection of the vintage. Vibrant fruit flavour with a refined mouth feel. An extraordinary vintage for this wine, you will be blown away. Matured in 100% new French oak for 20 months. Cellaring potential 12yrs – 15yrs. 14.5% Alc. (200 cases only)." - Wild Duck Creek
