Campbell Mattinson 92+ points!
Campbell Mattinson 92+ points!Made predominantly with cabernet sauvignon and merlot though cabernet franc and petit verdot also play a role. All estate-grown on Wantirna's 10-acre vineyard. Yarra Valley.
Light, fragrant style. Claret-like.. what is on offer is full of charm. Light pencil, chocolate, dry grass, black cherry, mulberry. Juicy. Lingering. Allow this to breathe and the aromas build and build. Fine, ripe tannin. Will be a charmer in the cellar. Should drink beautifully as a seven or eight year old. So light and delicate. Difficult wine to rate; easy wine to drink.
Wine Front, 9th December 2013.
Huon Hooke 92 points!Medium red with a purple tint. Attractive leafy, red fruit and dried herb, dried spice aromas, with some sulfide and a whiff of gunpowder. An elegant, medium to full-bodied with good balance, softness and drinkability, but also the tannins to give it structure and ageability.
