"It's matured in all-French oak and while it's mostly cabernet and merlot there's a small portion of petit verdot in the mix. It's medium weight and fluid with blackcurrant, milk chocolate and gravel notes slipping amiably through. It has shape and texture but integrity of fruit is key here. No mucking about; this is a good cabernet to drink." - Campbell Mattinson
"A very interesting vintage for this wine that, thanks to the cooler year, has taken on a real Bordeaux feel. Gone is the powerful sweet fruit from the Margaret River which has been replaced by a much more savoury, earthy and food-friendly style.
The wine shows good colour and then displays gravel, cedar and leafy aromas with red currant and black olive complexity. The palate is then supple and soft, with merlot fleshiness providing good drinkability. It is a relatively complex everyday drinking red well suited to Shepard’s Pie." - Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot
