Campbell Mattinson 91 Points!
Campbell Mattinson 91 Points!"Voyager is at the cooler, southern end of Margaret River (as is Leeuwin and Devil's Lair) which means that its cabernet can battle with herbaceousness (though unlike Leeuwin and DL, Voyager blends small amounts of richer Wilyabrup grapes into its cabernet). In the 1999 release there's certainly herbaceousness present, but it presents as a smoky tobacco complexity and swims within such a deep pool of intense, blackberry flavour. This is a rich wine, masterfully balanced and surprisingly integrated, with very fine tannins, a sweet, driving mid palate and just a slight, loamy, yoghurt-y (perhaps gamey) undertow."
