[SOLD-OUT] Villa Mount Eden Bien Nacido Chardonnay 2010

"This is a classic, richer, although not 'over the top' Chardonnay, featuring lemon meringue aromas intertwined with musky peach, brioche, crushed stone and hints of toast. Medium bodied on the palate, it is rich in texture but stays beautifully focused. The hand-picked grapes were pressed in whole clusters to preserve the intense and ripe flavours. The wine was fermented in 33% new French oak barrels charred to a medium-heavy toast. Malolatic fermentation followed to soften the acids, adding a creamy, brulee-butterscotch element. Nine months of barrel aging sur lie with regular stirring integrated the oak and fruit flavours."
