[SOLD-OUT] Vasse Felix VYA3 Chardonnay 2016

"A full bodied entrance leads to more refined flavours of pineapple, grapefruit, cashew and malt. The combination of frech acidtiy, present phenolics and alcohol weight give the wine a round, creamy palate and textured finish.

The sites selected for our Black Market Chardonnays originated from the Gingin clone of Chardonnay - Margaret River's heritage clone. The Wilyabrup block is approximately 50km North of the Karridale block, making the site considerably warmer. The fruit was whole bunch pressed, full solids to old oak and fermented wild. The wine underwent Malolactic fermentation naturally, before 12 months maturation in oak. No fining or filtration was undertaked and a small amount of SO2 was used to protect the wine. The Wilyabrup block harvest was almost one month earlier than the Karridale block with higher sugar yet similar acidity at harvest. Both blocks show delicate, ripe flavours typical of their environment." - Vasse Felix
