The Vajra name is one of the most famous in Barolo. A small family winery begun in 1972 has become an international sensation. Barolo fans everywhere gravitate to their mythical top Riserva wines, three of which are represented in this pack.
Bricco delle Viole is a prized vineyard of the estate, planted in 1949 by the grandfather of the founder. It produces one of Barolo's most complete Barolos, a beautiful balance of fruit and sturdy texture. Alongside it is a Nebbiolo from Coste di Rosa, one of Barolo's high-altitude sites where the resultant wine is floral and finely mineral; and Ravera, lauded as one of Barolo's "Grand Cru" vineyards, making an earthy, brooding expression to treasure long in the cellar.
