Gourmet Traveller 96 Points!A restrained, youthful style with straw and mineral aromas. It's more about earth and rocks than fruit aromas. Same in mouth: some juiciness at first then clean and dry, puckering and minerally with a wet stone quality that lingers.
Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller Wine August/September 2013.
Gary Walsh 95 Points!"Tasted at least three times and it just keeps getting better.
The wine that just keeps on giving. Fresh fruit " juicy peach, citrus and melon, vanilla cashew, florals. Medium bodied, excellent flavour, purity, excellent acid, gentle creamy cashew but so clean and fresh and long. A delight."
Gary Walsh, Wine Front, 11 June 2013.
"Vat 47 from the Hunter Valley is a famous chardonnay. It avoids lots of winemaking artifice and relies on peach and green melon fruit, perfectly integrated oak, a smoothly layered, harmonious palate and maturity."
