“100% mataro and 100% new French oak. Smells of wood, smoke, dates, figs and blackberries. Serious red wine. Texture is lighter and fresher with a barely-there animale meatiness that counters some sweetness of fruit and lends intrigue to the wine. Finishes slender and with a chalky pucker. It’s composed, on the cusp of elegance, in fine form. Delicious drinking for fuller-flavoured mataro lovers. Worth the visit. Thanks for cellaring, Torbreck.”
