[SOLD-OUT] Torbreck Struie Shiraz 2011

Sourced from several elevated sites throughout the Barossa & Eden Valleys, the Struie reflects the cooler side of the region and showcases the subtle nuances that are gained from hillside viticulture. The cool conditions experienced in the Barossa Valley during the 2011 Vintage have enhanced the naturally elegant and fine qualities that the Struie is renowned for.
Torbreck
"Straight up shiraz, 70% from the Barossa Valley, 30% from the Eden Valley. All hand harvested, destemmed into open fermenters, inoculated, no tannin or acid adjustment, spends 18 months in mostly older oak, sometimes Factor and Run Rig barrels can get blended back into the wine too.

Big, spicy, cedary, rich aromas " but not over the top, just generous and concentrated fruit. Has Barossa power in the palate, a slender version of Struie though, pleasing and vibrant. Rattles around the mouth, leaves residual spice and plummy fruit flavours, tannins are strict and coffee/chocolatey, but there's a pleasing, lifted freshness in the wine.
