Robert Parker 92 Points!A new offering, the 2001 The Struie is 100% Shiraz made from equal parts old vine Eden Valley and Barossa Valley fruit. It was aged 18 months in French wood of which 20% was new. A firmly-structured, chocolatey, earthy effort, it displays large-scaled flavors, good acidity, and high levels of firm tannin along with mouthfilling extract and substance. It is a big wine with a cooler climate character than Torbreck's other offerings. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 12-15.

Wine Spectator 92 points!"Bright in flavor, refined in structure, with firm tannins surrounding a vibrant core of plum, blueberry and pomegranate fruit, all of which echo harmoniously on the round, focused finish."

Jeremy Oliver 91 points!" A new Torbreck label from Eden Valley and Barossa fruit, made into a smooth, sumptuous and very drinkable wine focused around intense jujube-like black berry flavours constructed around a fine-grained spine of silky tannins. There's some rustic, meaty, chookshed complexity about its dusty, spicy berry aromas, while its concentrated palate and savoury finish reflect a fine balance between fruit, chocolate/vanilla oak and ripe tannins."
