Fruity, honeyed Single Malt Speyside classic
Founded in 1956 by Georges Benitah, La Maison du Whisky has established itself as one of the largest French specialists in the importing and distribution of rare whiskies. A leader in the sector, its dynamism has played an important role in the evolution of the French market for premium whiskies, and now also fine spirits. Their knowledge, range of whiskies and other spirits and liqueurs is immense. Quality is the unique parameter.
This Single Malt Scotch is aged primarily in refill casks, which allow the whisky to fully express its fruity/floral character. This fruity and honeyed Speyside classic is a perfect representation of a Longmorn 2002, featuring both a sweet and highly exuberant character.
Ample and rich bouquet. The nose is initially marked by notes of fresh walnuts, pine resin and cocoa beans. It moves smoothly towards aromas of black liquorice and freshly-cut grass. From medicinal (balsam, castor oil), it becomes increasingly warm and heady (honeysuckle, iris). The palate is subtle and sophisticated. The initial attack coats the palate in notes of balsam and essential oils (savory, thyme, thuja). The mid-palate brings notes of ripe fruit (pear, apple) and candied citrus fruit (orange, lemon). The aftertaste is herbaceous and minty."
