Some may find the funk overdone, but the sous bois is backed up by thrust on the palate " tactile density with a thick but not overly muscular flow of blackcurrants, mulberry and briary forest berries. Very long in the mouth with suppleness yielding to a very fine, dusty finish. Cinched and tatted with a lacework of delicate tannin and life giving mineral-fined acidity. A superb expression; this kind of wine reaffirms excitement in the breadth of Australian shiraz."
