“Grenache (60%) and Mataro (35%) from 100 year old vines at Ebenezer in the north west with a splash of Shiraz from 20 year old vineyards at Gomersal on the western ridge. Forest berries, coal and steaks, some spice and aniseed, subtle floral perfume. Medium bodied, fresh and perky, with dark berries, spice, clean acidity and light fine grained tannin. Red berries and spice on the finish, which closes almost ‘minerally’. Takes a little while to come up in the glass, but given time, reveals its juicy nutty charms to full effect.”
