“It saw much the same oak handling as several other of Tellurian’s ’14 releases but this one has swallowed it whole; it seems to have barely touched the sides.

The result is a scorcher. Full of fruit but savoury at heart. Intricately tannic. Lively, fresh and accessible but with more than enough richness and length. The rush of plum-shot fruit, coasted in cream and cedar wood, is as exemplary as it is delicious. Heathcote Shiraz in all its pomp.”

Since first vintage in 2008, we have seen remarkable differences across Shiraz Block 3 at Tranter Rd between Short Rows (SR) low on the hill and Top of the Long Rows (TLR) high on the slope. TLR is fragrant with lovely instensity and beautiful tannin structure. A single Tranter shiraz component showing fascinating influence of "terroir".

 Dark crimson. The nose reveals fresh blackberries and clove spice which combine with earthy, savoury aromatics. Super fine mouth coating tannins wrap around core of blue/black fruit. The flavours on the palate are driven by a vein of minerality that provides exceptional length. Cellar 10-15 years.
