[SOLD-OUT] Tedeschi Amarone Della Valpolicella 2015

ROBERT PARKER 94 POINTS!
VELVETY AND PLUSH WINE, MADE FROM GRAPES DRIED TO GIVE RICH, RAISINY HEFT.

"Notes of vanilla and ethereal airs depending on the period of aging in the barrel; notes of sweet fruits such as currants, blueberries, cherries depending on the varieties of grapes. Wine with a velvety, raisiny character combined with the structure and typical stylish bitterness to give it good balance. It has an enduring and persistent flavor." - Tedeschi

"This wine is made with fruit from outside the Classico zone, from hillside vines planted in well-drained marl soils, with 180-degree exposures from southwest to southeast. The wine's name Marne 180 plays up both of those site-specific attributes. A new wine from Tedeschi, the 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Marne 180 is slightly more approachable when stacked against the estate's Amarone Capitel Monte Olmi. Offering bright primary fruit with good complexity in the form of spice, tobacco and dried herbs, you could serve the Marne 180 at a holiday party with a platter of French cheeses." - Wine Advocate

"Lots of pretty herbal and foresty undertones come to the fore on the nose, ranging from cumin to aniseed and truffles. Dark cherries and brambleberries abound. Plush and chewy, this full-bodied red delivers soft, juicy tannins against a backdrop of ostentatious dark fruit." - James Suckling

"This leads off with a waft of bay leaf on the nose, followed by an herbal accent that laces the black raspberry, fig cake and spice box flavors on the palate. A firm, medium- to full-bodied red, this is not a powerhouse, but offers pleasant freshness and expression." - Wine Spectator
