"Shows dark fruit spectrum and very fine tannins this is an excellent addition to the range which is beautifully balanced and for earlier drinking while waiting for village wines to mature. An ultra-fresh and very bright nose freely offers up its array of red berries, plum and even more floral wisps. There is again a lovely textured to the beautifully delineated and stony middleweight flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere, linear and chiseled finale. This is also really quite good and worth considering.” - Burghound
“Grown on Heavier clay based soils in the village of Villers Lafaye, 85% from La Piece Dame Marie 2.50 hectares in all. Medium crimson purple colour. The bouquet shows good fruit ripeness, and in deed there are some plummy notes along with ripe raspberry on the palate, with a saline touch at the end. Dark with a bitter edge perhaps? Drink from 2024-2026.” - Jasper Morris MW
“Do I need to tell you how much I adore Sylvain Cathiard’s wines? This is a seriously good quality producer, one whose star is in the ascendant. These are gloriously silky smooth, complex wines; not just with the top Premier Crus but down to the generic Burgundy. It’s the intensity and focus that set Cathiard apart, wines with supreme definition and purity that seduce the palate like a beautiful courtesan. I would love to taste his Grand Crus, but they are incredibly rare and sought-after. This producer comes highly recommended from top to bottom.” - Neal Martin
