"Sourced from the Standish Family Vineyard – Siegersdorf Road, Vine Vale, Barossa Valley. Planted on own roots in 1912. Tightly wound with its cards close to the vest, deep-set aromatics of coal, pressed currant and black truffle are foiled by redolent tones of tilled soil, beef broth and slow roasted meats. Dark and brooding with immense concentration, persistence and energy it is somewhat of a heroic style but is gently laced with a long fine cloak of silken tannin."
Standish
"Dan Standish is one of the most respected vignerons and winemakers working in Australia right now. He is a fifth generation Barossan with a long history of winemaking and vine growing. He makes small-batch, single-site Shiraz from Pre-Phylloxera, old-vine Barossan sites. Ask critics, sommeliers or trust us when we say that Standish wines compete (and beat) wines that ask well in excess of two or three times these prices. His wines have fruit power, structure and will flower into deeply satisfying wines in a patient cellar as successfully as a Henschke, a Penfolds or a Torbreck of the same ilk."
