eRobertParker.com 96+ points!"Produced from 98-year-old vines yielding just 0.5 tons to the acre, the 2009 The Standish Shiraz was matured for 25 months in French barriques, 25-30% new. Deep purple black in color, it's youthfully restrained on the nose, giving very pure and superbly defined black currant, blackberry and violet aromas over hints of mocha, toast, yeast extract, allspice and underbrush. Very rich, concentrated and muscular on the full bodied palate, it is finely structured with a medium to firm level of fine-grained tannins and medium to high acid, finishing with lingering notes of baking spices. It should drink best 2014 to 2024."
