"Celebrating the legacy of Barossa Valley Grenache, Pete Schell sources this wine from three dry-grown, old-vine parcels: one in the extreme west at Moppa (55 years old); one in northern Barossa at Ebenezer (90 years old); and one in Bethany in the east (85 years old).
With a focus on freshness and drinkability allied to a supple core of Barossan generosity and depth of flavour, the 2020 Garçon pours into the glass a gorgeous crimson red and tastes as good as it looks. Evocatively aromatic, freshly crushed raspberries, spice and black peppercorn waft out the glass and lead to a delicious, vibrantly fruited palate. There's a pinch of gently chewy tannins and great, refreshing acidity. How it is possible to produce a wine of this class, at this price, from vines of this age is beyond us." - Bibendum
