[SOLD-OUT] Sorrenberg Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2019

New release from Sorrenberg and the first of thier 2019's to come out!

Made up of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon. The Semillon fruit is pressed off immediately after picking and the Sauvignon Blanc receives about 8 hours skin contact to give the wine a bit more structure. The wines are then fermented with natural yeast in large format oak barrels and see an extended amount of contact with the lees. This gives the palate such a fantastic creaminess and edible texture.

'The nose of the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon is showing a combination of Meyer lemon, grapefruit and a hint of kiwi fruit and green pear. These fruits follow on to the palate with a freshness combined with refined acid creating a minerally, well-rounded finish. This wine will cellar for 8 years plus.'
- Barry Morey, Winemaker

Mike Bennie has described Sorrenberg SBS as "A near flawless wine" and of the 2018 (he awarded 96+ Points) said confidently:
'Continuing the argument that this is Australia's best white wine'.

In 2019, Mike Bennie explained how 'Recent vintages of Sorrenberg wines have incrementally increased their pedigree.' Last year Gourmet Traveller Wine commented Sorrenberg was 'excelling quietly' and featured them in 'Wines to Watch' - a section usually reserved for the avant garde and rising stars. Read more on Mike Bennie's observations of Sorrenberg below.
