Medium to full bodied, silky and spicy with a distinctly saucy aspect to its flavour profile, supple fine grained tannin, suggestions of truffle and tinned corn lurking at the back of the shelf, and a smooth finish of fair length. I think the Romulus will take on a better flavour profile as it ages, though this is very seductive and fine to drink now.”

"Sourced from 50+ year old vines at Moculta, blended with wine made from 50+ year old vines at Central Eden, this Shiraz is more suited to New French oak. More refined than the Romulus, but definitely not lacking in flavour, enjoy this until 2025. The flavour profile leans towards the darker fruit spectrum, with black and blueberry notes given extra fleshiness by dark cherry, dried herb and spicy nuacnes. Great length of palate, smooth and seductive, this is a persistent and delicious wine."
